Independent Day Celebration
Dear Parents,
Please practice your children for the song "Mata Maani Wage" to sing at the Independence Day Celebration on the 10th Sunday at Perth Town Hall at 9.00am. There will be two practicing sessions, one on the 3rd February and another one on the 9th of February along with Muthu Keta Vessa practicing sessions. Times will be notified soon.
I have attached the words again for you to go through with children. They need to sing both national anthems as well.
The Dress Code: White Lama Saree with accessories (white bead necklace, two little araliya flowers, a white ribbon for the hair) for girls and white national dress for the boys
As a school we are representing and the maximum participation is expected.

Resuming Sinhala Classes and Muthu Keta Vessa Practices on this Sunday
Dear Parents,
Please find the following information with regard to recommencement of PSS classes and Muthu Keta Vessa practices.
Recommencement of PSS Classes:
Perth Sinhala School will resume its classes for the third term of 2012/2013 academic year on the 17th of February, instead of 10th of Feb due to Independence Day Celebration and PSS students' participation in the event. This decision has been taken at the 5th committee meeting held on the 20th of Jan. Thus, book submission date and all other competitions scheduled for February are postponed by a week.
Muthu Keta Vessa Practices:
During this week end there will be drama practices and practices for the group who will be doing Hadakarai Dangakarai. Both practices will take place at my place (10, Nuytsia Crescent, Canning Vale).
(i) Drama Practices: 4.00pm to 5.30pm on 26th Saturday (tomorrow)

FW: 2012/2013 Annual Competitions, Independence Day Celebration and Muthu Keta Vessa Practices
Dear Parents,
Hope you had a great holiday and festive season. This e-mail contains information about upcoming annual competitions, Independence Day Celebration and Muthu Keta Vessa practices.
Annual Competitions:
In February there will be 3 competitions as notified last year. Please refer competition sheets attached.
(i)10th of February- Story books created by students should be handed over to class teachers. The book submission form will be sent to you shortly. If any parent have any questions about the story creation you can contact me either on 61012979 or on 0406715310. Please encourage your child/children to create an own story book during School holidays.
(ii)17th of Feb- Story Development in Classes - For class 4 and 5 students only. They will be given few pictures and will ask them to write a story in classes during a given time.
(iii)24th of Feb- Oratory competition (see attached sheets for more information)
Independence Day Celebration:
As in the past years, this year also PSS students have been invited to sing two national anthems and a patriotic song by Sri Lankan Cultural Society of WA. As we have a very limited time, we will have train students for a known song. So after talking to other teachers too, it is decided to sing Mata Maani Wage Song. The words are attached herwith and please train your children to sing this song. The dress will be lama saree and national dress. The venue, date and time will be notified soon.
Muthu Keta Vessa Practices:
Next Sunday afternoon we are planning to have muthu keta vessa practices. The time and venue will be notified soon. As we have got only 10 weekends, please send your children for practices.
